SYNOPSIS:
By the end of the first scene of "Drop Back Ten," Pete Barners (Le Gros), a writer for a daily paper in New York City, has lost his job and his girlfriend. With lucky timing, however, Pete is promptly offered a freelance magazine assignment to write a superficial story on a beautiful and seemingly self-possessed young actor, Spanks Voley (Harrington). Pete takes a train to Delaware to meet Spanks, and there he enters into the comic bubble that's life on a film production. It's also a treacherous bubble, one that is quickly popped for the unlucky Spanks when he is injured in a late-night mishap. The "mishap" is something Spanks would rather not discuss, at first, but his bloodied face gives Pete's assignment an unexpected twist -- especially since it introduces Mindy Deal (Valletta) into the mix, a woman who quickly insinuates herself into Pete's story and under his skin.
