SYNOPSIS:
In this romantic tragedy from acclaimed director Steven Soderbergh, a bizarre love triangle is born at a doll factory in a small town fallen on hard times. Lonely and isolated, long time employees Martha and Kyle have become friends by default, but their dynamic is upset by the arrival of a new worker, young single mother Rose. As Martha skeptically speculates about Rose’s dubious character, she’s distraught to find Kyle and Rose developing a relationship of their own. These three workers strive to establish and maintain meaningful connections, but Rose’s violent death disrupts their routine lives and shatters their hopes. Featuring a cast of non-professional actors from the Ohio location, Soderbergh brings this tragic story to life with startling realism.
