Two companions are recruited to hunt down a beast that has been slaughtering peasants along the countryside of Gevaudan. The story takes place just before the French Revolution and the two men - a court biologist named Gregoire de Fronsac (Le Bihan) and his American Indian blood brother Mani (Dacascos) - find themselves hunting more than just a mythical beast.
