Beyond the Sea follows the tragic-heroic life of the late teen singing idol, Bobby Darin. Darin was born with a rare heart condition that initially was thought to limit his life to only 16 years, but he lived to the age of 37 when he died due to a blood infection contracted during open heart surgery.
