An A? Some of you critics must have been related to this guy because most of the grades you've given his movies are over-rated. So let me guess as long as you have stars that are going to make blockbuster Marvel Comics movie hits, you give their movie good grades but if they're low budget urban singers, than their movie is juvenile.

I definitely agree with the 'A' grade. What confuses me is why the film did not perform well at the box office? It's funny. It's fresh. This year has been a horrible year for movies so why didn't folks come out for this one?!

This is a very good movie – perhaps because of reduced expectations from a never ending stream of shitty H'wood movies – but still a very good, entertaining, worth-full-price, movie.

Inventive, funny, engaging, and well cast…EXCEPT for Michael Cera who by this point has become like iceberg lettuce: fairly bland, decent—even satisfying—in a supporting role, but so very lacking as the star. He's got no heft, no real presence, and no sex appeal. His one-note acting style is starting to wear incredibly thin these days, too. And, to the detriment of the film, I never completely bought him as a romantic lead. Object of a high school crush? Sure. But as the romantic lead? Nope. (In fact, I never want to have to see him making out with anyone ever again.)

But the film has so much else going for it—good script, well edited and directed—and the rest of cast is so tip top that the film is pretty entertaining. Cera, though, could easily have been replaced by another more interesting and engaging actor and it would've worked equally as well. Maybe someone with a chin…

First of all, ANY movie starring Michael Cera is automatically an alternative universe. For frequent moviegoers, it will probably be fun to see something different. Like it was fun to watch StepUp3D. And it was fun to watch The Expendables (I recommend it). But I am 100% sure that the only reason to watch Scott Pilgrim is BECAUSE it is different. Sort of like vacationing in the Orient. And I'm quite sure that's why most critics are recommending it. Because they are very frequent moviegoers, indeed. Always on the lookout for something different.

So very frequent moviegoers should go. But anyone who only sees a couple of movies a month should probably choose differently. In fact, the reason it will fail at the box office is because it is for people who see more than (about)four movies a month in theaters. Personally, looking at August's lineup, it would be the fifth movie on a list that I will probably only see three or four of.

This was a really fun movie, but I just can't ever call this an "A-" or one of the movies of the year. I think Brad is exaggerating a little bit. I think Brad will look back and think "It was good, but damn, what was I thinking?"

The movie had the perfect blend of action, funny scenes, great casting, sound effects, etc. However, the story isn't really that interesting, but everything else is executed perfectly to cover up that little fact.

I did enjoy the movie and I personally would give it a B-rating. It just wasn't that great a script, but it surely was an entertaining popcorn flick.

I recommend that you should see it, but the outrageous expectations Brad is placing will hurt your experience.

This is shaping up to be quite a year for cult comics. First "Kick-Ass" and now "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World" – I'm in heaven. I for one was starting to feel that the genre was a bit tired. Then comes along "Watchmen" in 2009 and the two films mentioned above and shakes things up. Unfortunately, neither "Watchmen" nor "Kick-Ass" were box office hits (though they did make back their budgets and delivered modest profits); hopefully Scott Pilgrim can break this trend.

I just got back from seeing it. I just loved that it worked as a entertaining summer blockbuster but had other elements that made it original. I'm also glad that the pace of the movie never slowed down and continued all the way to the end. I'd have to say that this is one of the best of the summer, right behind Toy Story and Inception

This movie surprised me. It's hard to believe that a summer that everyone is calling mediocre has produced two of the most original Hollywood films in quite some time. (I refer to Inception as well as Pilgrim). Visually amazing. Pacing was amazing. The only complaint was I felt that the central relationship didn't really gel to well from initial meeting to dating. Seemed a bit forced. But the movie around it, with it's sheer originality and hilarious jokes, surprisingly makes up for that.

To all people that think anybody would like Scott pilgrim, no freakin way. If I want to see a chick flick thats just been juiced up by some lame comic action hell to the No. The acting is probably good but crap is still crap. I don't care about this turd of a movie!!!!!

The trailers and the general concept and also the whole comic book style filming really turned me off. They all came off as silly to me. But after reading your review, I just might have to give it a watch.

I immediately scrolled to the bottom to see your grade, and WOW an A-?!?! I'll wait to read your review after I catch this one tomorrow. I actually went to see The Expendables first which was enjoyable, but I did get a feeling Scott Pilgrim was going to come out a better movie overall. After seeing your grade (I usually trust them) I'm DEFINITELY checking this one out.
