I don't think character developement or anything like that is a requirement for this movie. Like you all said, he knew what he was making the movie for. GORE. That's the reason for character development in horror, gives us something to do in between. I did have a lot of fun with the lake scene (and really, who doesn't cheer whenever you see Eli Roth eat it.) As for the 3-D, wasn't too bad. I believe they always shot it with the intention of going 3-D, so they lit appropriately for it. Unlike other conversions where it's too dark or murky and the effects don't do anything really cool. I think My Bloody Valentine 3-D is still the best 3-D horror film so far (and probably will be for a while as the novelty starts to wear thin). Overall, I give it an OK, Could've Been Better. The 3D thing espacially in the water scenes hurted my eyes real bad and I wanted to take off these stupid glasses, but the picture is 3D so you can't watch without them. No Character development and (spoilers here ) since they are dealing with baby piranhas and ignoring the mature ones then they should have pushed the picture to 120 mins at least. All in all, good film to watch with friends only (C+). Brad your absolutely right!
