I do agree with you Brad, very very much! In my opinion Inception was the best movie that I've ever seen. I have seen it four times, and I'm ready too watch it again and again whenever it is possible. I just think that a movie like that it never going to be created again. It just happens once. I definitely love inception, in all of it!!! <3

HEY WAKE UP!! This movie is a yawnfest. How easy it is to payola the critics and use Americans egos to convince theirselves they are now in the smarty pants club for having set thru this drible. "Hmm Pat Travers said it was intelligent, by jiminee me to, and Ill also try that new Mc MSG burger cause' someone on tv said to" I did enjoy when the cheerleaders took machine guns to the bad guys, oh wait that was when I drifted off, I was dreaming, Or was I?

Metacritic often seems to me to be an extremely bitter crone, rarely satisfied and irritating in her surliness. I avoid the site as much as possible now and certainly don't trust its opinions, precisely for the reason that it reacts so relatively negatively to such a wonderful film as "Inception".

I felt the attack on the snow fort played out like a bad James Bond movie, and the whole concept of the film, while clever, wasn't given a chance to unfold properly. How many times must we watch a fight with a gun getting kicked around? Too many cliches and overdone chase/fight scenes wrecked it for me.

Nolan is great, but… Inception's dreams as a premise don't quite add up: a poor man's Matrix? The movie is visually stunning in places but also convoluted and sometimes overly complex. I don't expect to see Inception Reloaded anytime soon.

I finally got my chance to see this last night. Amazing film that kept me awake half the night thinking about the story and how it all played out. I'm seeing it again tonight.

Not as scientifically accurate as Battlefield Earth nor as humorous as Ishtar but all & all… MASTERPIECE!!! Although I will say that I found Caine's performance in Jaws the Revenge to be much more moving.

A cool, sci fi idea about people who can invade dreams for corporate fun and profit. CGI was amazing. Unfortunately, the dreams are BORING, consisting mostly of car chases and gunfights. And the movie was emotionally barren — apparently the actors were instructed that dreamers never smile. My DOG dreams with more imagination than that. I give this movie two stars at most.

This is for sure my favorite movie of the year so far. My favorite movie of the summer yet and it will stay that way. Nolan's best. Seen it twice and I wanna see it again.

I saw inception yesterday… and i was truly amazed.. im ready to see it again already. i was thinking though that Joseph gordon levitt couldve been the star role and i wish they wouldve gone that route, he couldve used this push more than leo, but i understand why they did it… just sucks to see JGL in a background role when the guy is a star

I have to disagree with the lack of emotional catharsis at the end. It had one, a big one. The thing is that this is a movie about reality and dreams, essentially the mind. I feel that the catharsis could be missed because we tend to imagine emotion to be matters of the heart not the mind, but the reality is that emotions are essentially created by the mind. The catharsis at the end is huge, especially when put at the mental level.

Yeah, I have to agree with Tommy. What movie did you see? It's amazing how he set up the rules and never once broke them. He has a tight story that deals with moral ambiguities and gives us such an ambiguous ending that is also satisfying. I need all my friends to see it just to discuss what we just saw. Of course, it is just your opinion. But in my opinion, the smartest, most complex movie I've seen come out of Hollywood. I guess you can tell I'm delivering an A+ as well. Yes, it's a gimmick, but just like Memento he plays that gimmick to the hilt and has viewers questioning what they just saw.

yeah, watch it again and tell me. I am not against the intention and the concept of the movie. I just felt the story is too hype and never touched the ground or heart. It is not about intelligence or patience. Don't put yourself higher than others, are you? It is not a bad movie, not at all, but doesn't live up to its ambition.

Inception was amazing. I agree that a lot of people (especially some fo the comments on this forum) will not have the patience,intelligence, or attention span to like this film. I saw the movie with a girl(sorry not misogyny) and she did not like it at all. She did not get the story line or like how complex and bending the plot was.She also thought the ending was stupid, probably because she had to think about it. If people are not force fed some action and blatant plot lines, or complete black and white character development. You can almost hear them during the movie saying. Is this a good guy or a bad guy. Sometimes it is hard to watch a though producing movie like this in a theater. Watching this movie at midnight in Downtown Seattle, I thought would be a awesome. But most people can not sit through an entire movie without getting up and pissing three times, you can really tell when the story line gets complex, and the actors are entrenched in heavy dialogue to guide you through this movie, then people start getting the most fidgety and squirmy. Seriously people, its like watching a documentary with 5 year old's. The Mtv movie generation has ruined any patience or attention span that people ever had. Also at the theater I was at some guy kept popping beer bottles and throwing his caps on the ground, followed by rolling his bottle down the theater floor at one point.
Really? I am all for bringing a beer in to a theater but be quiet and don't disturb anyone.
Other than that the movie was beautiful, a true masterpiece.
I dont know if this is a spoiler or what, but my Idea to the ending is that the true inception of the movie was Saito implanting the inception into cobb, from the very beginning. I dont know I have to watch it again

I watched Knight and Day right before it and felt more entertained. Inception is too ambitious and flawed. I thought it would be a great story concept but turned out merely a pile of visual concepts.

I've seen it. This is a case where I admire it more than like it. It's nice to see an original, complex film but I think it's going to pass over a lot of people's heads.

The thing that bothered me was no emotional catharsis at the end, it's all left up to interpretation. And during the last hour and a half, I kept checking my watch. For me, it's almost too complex for its own good. (And I saw this film from beginning to end, no bathroom/smoke break at all.)

It's different, and definitely worth seeing in theaters. But the question, will enough people 'get' it or will it have a "Watchmen"-style dropoff next weekend?

You know, I love the fact that Nolan expects his audience to keep up with the film and story. I followed it eagerly and greatly, and was never overwhelmed in where it was going. What did overwhelm me however, were the visuals, the acting, the "wow" moments, and I mean it all in a good way. Really one of the best films I've seen in a long, long time.

I challenge any other director/writer to take on a story of this magnitude and complexity and do it well.

"Bad" really isn't the right word to describe it. Convoluted and contrived seem more fitting. Like all of Nolan's films, it got lost and overwhelmed by the technicality of plot and whittled down to yet another gimmick. I wanted to like it, but from the first 5 minutes, knew I wasn't. Which isn't to say Nolan isn't an amazing craftsman, he most certainly is. He just hasn't mastered the art of story-telling.

Walking in I was already expecting it to be good as I am a fan of Christopher Nolan's work since Momento. The dialog kept me immersed and focused, while the visuals kept my eyes on the screen. Those key things combined with top notch actors is a movie worth raving about. This is just one of those rare occasions where the movie actually turned out better than the trailer. A+ all the way. Sorry Toy Story 3, but you lost your spot as my number one movie of the year.
