I haven't seen the film yet, but I want too. It looks entertaining and interesting. Even though I'm probably more familiar with the topic than you are, I've never heard of the India aspect until now. That's really bad. Some Black women are upset, because only Black women are featured and they argue that White women have hair extensions and dye jobs too. Personally, I don't care and I think it is informative to let little Black girls know that Beyonce's hair isn't real and that it's good to be comfortable with your own hair.

I've never had weaves/hair extensions/wigs, I've never even dyed my hair. I did get my first perm/relaxer when I was 11. My mom got tired of combing my hair because it was long and thick, so my cousin got one and I went with her ( I didn't want too though). Although my hair was easier to manage it got thinner and some of my hair began to come out. I don't have a perm now and my hair is healthier and less costly to manage. My dad always told us that good hair was healthy hair, so as a child I never really paid any attention to hair texture etc. Then again, I barely wear make up and I don't have any sort of beauty regime.lol
