I've read the book about this movie by the best selling author Elizabth Gilbert and I found it was brilliantly written. I should really watch this film, hope Julia Roberts did well in this movie as the original character on the book.

funny enough i am from india and i read what brad posted and it seems he didnt say that india ruined the story… it was possbily how Gilbert wrote and/or how Murphy adapted it… and you are welcome to come back to my beautiful country anytime ;)

I did see a positive review (3 stars) in my local paper, mostly due to the many solid male performance, especially Jenkins and Bardem.

it's funny that you say that the "india" portion feels the slowest, because while I read the book I got stuck at that part…and have yet to finish the book. That makes me think this movie is too close to the book in the worst possible way. haha.
