Although one of my all time favorite movies is a coming of age movie called "Baby, It's You", my local arthouse movie theater had many retiree's in attendence. I was wondering what they were doing paying to watch a coming of age movie. I suppose the film choices for the elderly are limited as the issues this film deals with are well worn. I totally noticed the solid acting; the British seem to take their acting and music traditions seriously. Emma Thompson playing mean was actually scary. I mean truly scary. She could definitely hold her own in a horror movie, or a non-campy Cruella De vil (101 Dalmations.) You just look at the poster, the stills, the story, the actors and think to yourself, "I'm gonna like this". I have this feeling for An Education. I look at Carey Mulligan's face and it makes me smile. (as for Peter Sarsgaard, he always makes me smile) You know when you have the feeling that you're gonna love a certain movie?
