Monahan and DiCaprio Not So Far 'Departed'
Duo team for 'Confessions of Pain'
The Hollywood Reporter has announced that William Monahan is wasting no time after winning his Oscar last night as he is set to reteam, in a way, with The Departed star Leonardo DiCaprio for yet another Hong Kong remake. This time it is a thriller titled Confessions of Pain for Warner Bros. Pictures.
The film follows two close friends, one a police detective and the other a private detective, who team to investigate the murder of the cop's father-in-law. As the investigation proceeds, they uncover evidence that shows that nothing is as it appears.
The familiar team of Alan Mak, Andrew Lau and Felix Chong, the team behind Infernal Affairs, of which The Departed was based, were behind the original.
The film is being developed as a starring feature for DiCaprio with Monahan adapting the script.
