Missy Elliott Biopic in the Works?
An unexpected subject...
Universal Pictures has apparently put the wheels in motion on a biopic based on the life of Missy "Misdemeanor" Elliott.
Scribe Dianne Houston pitched the idea to the studio and Robert De Niro and Jane Rosenthal are on board to produce through their NY-based production house Tribeca Films.
Elliott was born in Portsmouth, Va., in 1971, Elliott began her musical career with the girl group Sista. She then segued to a producing career before breaking out as a solo artist more than 10 years ago.
Missy hasn't been in the spotlight for some time, but apparently they isn't a concern so the story must be worth telling.
