Mel Gibson, Meet SAM AND GEORGE
In an article concerning screenwriter Dean Georgaris signing a sevn-figure deal with Paramount to pen the action/sci-fi script The Field for the studio, we learn that he is just finishing up the script for Sam and George for Paramount set to star Mel Gibson and his Lethal Weapon helmer Richard Donner will be directing the fare.
The re-teaming effort finds Gibson playing a man wrongly incarcerated for 25 years who nonetheless emerges blissfully happy that he's free. He is befriended by a lawyer who sees a huge lawsuit windfall if only he can get Gibson's character to face the fact that his life was destroyed.
