Megan Fox Joins Brolin and Malkovich in 'Jonah Hex'
It's comic adaptations all the way
The Hollywood Reporter tells us Megan Fox has lined up a pair of new film roles with the first one including a co-starring role in the Warner Bros. comic adaptation Jonah Hex and the other being Fathom, Fox Atomic's comic book-based underwater adventure.
In Hex Fox would star alongside Josh Brolin who stars as the title character and John Malkovich with Jimmy Hayward directing. Fox will play Leila, a gun-wielding beauty and love interest of Hex (Brolin), a scarred bounty hunter tracking a voodoo practitioner (Malkovich) who wants to raise an army of undead to liberate the South. The film is expected to begin shooting in April with an August 6, 2010 release date already set.
Fathom is another comic adaptation from the late Michael Turner and follows a young woman named Aspen who learns she is a member of a race of aquatic humanoids who possess the ability to control water. The screen adaptation is being written by Jordan Mechner, the creator of video game "Prince of Persia" which is seeing its own adaptation with Jake Gyllenhaal starring and a May 2010 release date already set for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.
Fox will next be seen in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen on June 24 followed by a starring role in the Diablo Cody scripted horror Jennifer's Body on September 18.
I wonder, can Fox break out of being a fanboy sex goddess and be considered a real actress or is she already doomed? I also wonder how long it will be before we hear rumors of a Josh Brolin/Megan Fox affair… Diane Lane is already seething.

Meagan Good's performance in Eve's Bayou shits on Megan's entire career. Meagan is pretty and considered hot, but why doesn't she get high profile movie roles and stuck doing shitty horror movies? Oh because she's Black. Hollywood pisses me off. What the hell has Megan Fox done NOTHING.
She can't act and is nothing but eye candy so I don't get much from seeing her cast in Jonah Hex.
This whole production is starting to fall apart for me personally, I love Brolan and Malkovich but when Neveldine & Taylor (my favorite current mainstream directors) were attached I felt like this could really be something special. Now that the director only has "Horton Hears a Who" on his resume…not looking too hot.
Now adding Fox just sends even more bad vibes, you don't hire Fox because of her talent you hire her to sell her sex appeal and I was hoping this would be more gritty and kinda out-there but it doesn't seem like it's going that way.
Not holding my breath.
I wasn't that excited for this to begin with. Now it sounds worse. She looks like a real comic book pin-up character in that pic though.
