McDermott Finds Miss World in 'Spices'

Variety is reporting that Dylan McDermott is set to star opposite a former Miss World, Aishwarya Rai, in The Mistress of Spices.
The film is being produced by Bend It Like Beckham helmer Gurinder Chada and will be helmed by Paul Mayeda Berges.
Production is set to start next week on the film, which is an adaptation of Chitra Divakaruni's novel about an Indian woman who runs a San Francisco spice shop. Her wares seem to have the power to cure her customers' problems, but her magic fades when she falls in love with an American.
