McAvoy, Banks, Linney and Friel Head to Seattle for 'The Details'
My backyard becomes a film set
Variety reports James McAvoy, Elizabeth Banks, Laura Linney and Anna Friel have joined the cast of The Details with Jacob Estes set to direct. Estes hasn't directed a film since the 2004 thriller Mean Creek, a film that gained some traction in a few corners, but didn't really light my fire.
Details is a black comedy penned by Estes centered on a couple (McAvoy and Banks) who discover an infestation of raccoons in their back yard. Disagreements over how to deal with the animals lead to an escalating series of events.
The film is actually going to be lensing in my sunny city of Seattle this summer. Might have to try and track down producer Mark Gordon and tell him to save me a seat and a cameo. I'm 6' 6" but I think I can pull off playing a raccoon… or maybe one of the trees they are climbing in.

Film about raccoons ?? well why not…must be shot entirely at night..is that why it's called a 'black comedy' :-)) if you see a raccoon during the day be ready to shoot it..possibly rabid, they have nasty habits, moles would have been better or maybe oppossums, even armadillos..:-) :-) beginning to sound like Road-Kill-Cafe….I'll go see it tho' being a fan of your cast..Atonement so sad…..
The Details now stars Tobey Macguire not James McAvoy.
