'Max Payne' Trailer Arrives
Another videogame adaptation, will this one hold up under scrutiny?
I'll be damned if it doesn't take forever for this trailer from Max Payne to download, but trust me it is there and once you hit play you will finally have a glimpse of what Mark Wahlberg and director John Moore have put together as yet another videogame adaptation takes a chance.
The pic tells the story of a maverick cop determined to track down those responsible for the brutal murder of his family and partner. Hell-bent on revenge, his obsessive investigation takes him on a nightmare journey into a dark underworld. As the mystery deepens, Max (Wahlberg) is forced to battle enemies beyond the natural world and face an unthinkable betrayal. It is set to hit theaters on October 17th.
I will say, the Angel of Death visual at the end of the trailer is pretty cool. Whatcha think?
Thanks to Slashfilm for the heads up.

This movie looks great. Same atmosphere as the video game.
Finally!! Im very pleasantly surprised with how good it looks, Ive been looking forward to this for awhile. Looks like the may have done the game justice, even with a PG-13…definitely has the same feel of the game. Hopefully the whole movie is as good as the trailer. Got the AWESOME Max Payne dive in there, and I gotta say, Mila Kunis looks pretty awesome as Mona Sax too…and how about slowmo gun firing in the show bit? Awesome.
TERRIBLE CASTING AND IF IT IS REALLY PG-13 THEY CAN FORGET ABOUT MY $7!!!
I don't think from the trailer that this is going to be PG-13. That would be disappointing if it is because one of the key elements in the games is the grit, violence, and language…you know New York. That being said, I think this looks good and I really like Wahlberg as Max.
I have never played the game, but is there a supernatural element to it? Based on the trailer it sure seems like it.
Both Mila Kunis and Mark Wahlberg have both stated in interviews that the movie will be PG-13.
""The movie is PG-13," says Kunis. "It's incredibly dark. You still get the gist of it. The only different between R-rated and PG-13 is you might not see as much blood."
Mark Wahlberg: "Its PG-13, so you dont get to swear. You dont get to hide behind that."
And Brad, there is no supernatural elements in the game, or the script.
**spoiler I guess***
The demons or angels of death are effects of a drug that plays a key role in the story.
