Mark Wahlberg 'Own(s) the Night'
Marky Mark joins up with Joaquin Phoenix.
According to Variety one more big name actor is set to "own the night" as Mark Wahlberg joins Joaquin Phoenix, Robert Duvall and Eva Mendes in We Own the Night for director James Gray who also previously made The Yards which starred both, Phoenix and Wahlberg.
We Own the Night was written by Gray and is set at the height of a bloody 1980s struggle between New York City cops and a Russian mob that targeted law officers and their families. That led the NYPD to hang "We Own the Night" banners in precinct houses and step up their efforts. Wahlberg and Phoenix play siblings in a cop-dominated family, with Phoenix the black sheep who ends up managing a Russian mob-controlled nightclub.
The film will shoot in March in New York.
