Lohan's Rehab May Hurt the 'Poor Thing'

Cocaine and too much drinking before you are 21 will do that

I haven't done a Gossip Sheet for a few weeks, but this really should be classified as such, but since Variety is calling it movie news I will too. I am sure most of you have heard that Lindsay Lohan was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence Saturday after her convertible struck a curb, and investigators found what they believe is cocaine at the scene, police said. Following that she has now returned to rehab today when she checked into Malibu's Promises rehab facility under the watchful eye of her lawyer. It seems Lohan and Britney Spears now have something in common as this is the same rehab center Brit tried.

This is Lindsay's second trip into rehab as she already checked into rehab in January for substance abuse treatment. She finished a 30-day outpatient program last February at Wonderland.

A statement was issued by Lohan's publicist Leslie Sloane Zelnick today saying:

Lindsay admitted herself to an intensive medical rehabilitation facility on Memorial Day. Because this is a medical matter, it is our hope that the press will appreciate the seriousness of the situation and respect the privacy of Lindsay as well as the other patients receiving treatment at the facility.

Chances of Lohan getting privacy as her career fades into oblivion is slim and to ask for it from the "press" is silly. However, speaking of her career, she was just added to the cast of the grandma gang film Poor Things and Variety was told by Zelnick that she did not know if Lohan will be able to take part in the film, especially since it begins filming tomorrow (May 30). On the other hand, a rep for the producers told Variety that the project's still moving ahead and may have to switch schedules.

Lohan will next be seen as a stripper in I Know Who Killed Me and I can't quite figure out if I think Sony Pictures is happy Lindsay's name is still in the press or not. Perhaps just the fact that she plays a stripper in the movie is enough to get asses in the seats… at least opening weekend asses.

The craziness involving the whole situation continues as now pieces of Lohan's Mercedes are now on eBay with what I can assume to be a current fake bid set at $14,800.

Oh, and one last note comes out of MTV saying the following:

Former host Lindsay Lohan has made it a "Georgia Rule" to be at the Movie Awards every year. After hosting and winning an award in 2004 and nabbing two awards in 2005, Lohan will be back this year to present a Golden Popcorn trophy to someone else.

What are the bets that this will actually happen now? This MTV article was posted on May 21, Lohan went into rehab on May 28 and the MTV Movie Awards will be broadcast live on June 3. I say there will be no Lohan, but I don't think that is a risky call.
