Lohan and Leto Begin New 'Chapter'
Lennon's murder give feature adaptation.
Before I went a few lines into this press release there is no way I could have seen where it was going, I guess Lindsay Lohan is really trying to abandon all the lighthearted films she began her career with. No more Mean Girls or Herbie movies I guess. Next time around she is joining Jared Leto in Chapter 27 a drama about the murder of Beatles star John Lennon for Peace Arch Entertainment Group Inc. and Artina Films.
Leto will star as, Beatles star, John Lennon's killer Mark Chapman, who is torn between his awe of Lennon and his desire to be famous himself. Lohan plays a devoted Lennon fan who befriends Chapman on that fateful weekend in New York.
The screenplay was written and will be directed by Jarrett Schaeffer who will be making his directorial debut.
"Jarrett Schaeffer is a visionary new filmmaker who will no doubt have a prolific career ahead of him. His passion and vision for CHAPTER 27 drew me to the project immediately," said producer Robert Salerno. "He clearly had the same effect on our cast. Jared and Lindsay are two tremendous actors and could not be better suited for these roles."
Lohan's slate is currently filled with A Prairie Home Companion coming out next year along with such films as Bobby and Just My Luck beyond that. I wouldn't expect Chapter 27 no earlier than 2007.
