'Lizzie Maguire' and 'Airbud' Star are the New Bonnie and Clyde
This sounds about right...
Tonya S. Holly wrote and will direct The Story of Bonnie and Clyde for Cypress Moon Studios with Hilary Duff and Kevin Zegers set to star as the title characters. The film is being described as an indie feature and is said to be a new adaptation of the Bonnie and Clyde story and not a remake of the 1967 classic film that starred Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty and was nominated for 10 Oscars and ended up winning two for Best Supporting Actress (Estelle Parsons) and Best Cinematography (Burnett Guffey).
Holly began working on the project after reading old newspaper articles about the gangster pair in an abandoned house on her family's property.
The picture is set to film in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. Natalie Canerday and Rance Howard will also star.
I am not an unabashed lover of Bonnie and Clyde, but I like it and don't really know what to make of this. It sounds silly to be honest, but when all is said and done it has no effect on the '67 film at all so I guess there isn't much to even consider.
If you are wondering who Tonya Holly is there isn't much to say unless you caught When I Find the Ocean in 2006. IMDb says it was shown at the George Lindsey UNA Film Festival and that's it so I can't imagine it has a large following. Duff most know as Lizzie McGuire or from the Cheaper by the Dozen films and Zegers has had a rather obscure career and is probably most recognized as the lead actor in the Air Bud films as Josh Framm.

Actually, as funny as it sounds… Hillary Duff isn't that bad of a choice.
In the real life story, Bonnie falls for Clyde at the age of 16… so that will be a good role for her to fill.
I can't say how well she will act in the movie, but just the idea alone seems to work for me.
Even if it is complewtely different from the 1967 version I will have a hard time not comparing it. I don't love the 1967 version as much as others but I for some reason take an issue when they remake classics like this. In my opinion they should remake movies that had good premises but failed as a film.
This film is doomed from the start. If the creators of the film wanted to make a good, gritty, period piece about two of America's most dynamic and charismatic criminals (Bonnie dabbled in lesbianism and Clyde often upset Bonnie for his daliances with a male aquaintance and his impotency). Murder, graft, sexual deviance/frustration – and their goto girl is……Hillary "Lizzy Maguire" Duff? This casting choice is laughable at best.
Angelina Jolie, Anne Hathaway, Charlize Theron (my choice) are women capable of bringing depth, allure, and killer instincts to this film. But in the end who cares, nothing can compare to the original (especially not the new edition played on an HDTV).
@Quake82: they're not trying to remake a film. People seem to forget that these were real people and nt just some movie. The actresses ou mentioned are great, but not at all a Bonnie Parker type, I myself would not have chosen Hillary but someone like Natalie Portman, or even Scarlett johansen. The actress picked does seem laughable as someone else said but sometimes people can surprise you. I kinda wish they would have picked Dominique Swain from the 1997 movie, "Lolita". I feel like that girl really shined in that movie and she just needed another chance to prove herself again, oh well, none the less, I will be at the movies to see this film, as Bonnie and Clyde are two favorites of mine.
