    What the hell is it with the MPAA and throwing in "bloody violence" with nearly every R-rating?

    In 2010 alone:

    Daybreakers
    Legion
    Edge of Darkness
    From Paris With Love
    The Wolfman
    The Crazies
    Brooklyn's Finest
    Repo Men

    I'm all for bloody violence, but they seem to be overusing this description since most of the films out there with this description aren't very bloody at all.

    @Wolfgang Hamilton:
    Yea seriously. I used to get excited when i saw that descriptor, but now im starting to get weary of it. I also want to just throw this in, does anybody WANT to see legion? I really cant wrap my head around it, it looks just god awful to me and i cant picture any true excitement towards it.

    I know right. Every movie to come out seems to be rated R for bloody violence. I think Piranha 3D and Kick-Ass will be next.

    I'd say 'bloody violence' is the new '… all involving teens', but that one is still there, too.

    @wrongturn687:

    "Kick Ass" will most definitely have "bloody violence" as a descriptor. Hell, I'll bet good money that one of the descriptors will be "Strong stylized bloody violence"- exactly.

    Also "Gnomes & Trolls" reminds me of "Grottos and Gremins". If anyone gets that reference, here's a cookie with your name on it.

    Oh, and "pervasive language" is also very overused. If the language truly is pervasive (like over a 100 fucks) then yeah, that's fine. But, if it's not and just moderately bad, then save it.

    @Wolfgang Hamilton: @Abrahim:

    Umm.. it's because the MPAA is mainly made up of annoyed, British guys.

    "What's with all this bloody violence??"

    Anyone? Anyone?
