UPDATED: Kristen Stewart Rumored for Snow White
Is this a good idea?
UPDATE: Heat Vision is delivering this same information listing actresses Riley Keough, Felicity Jones, Alicia Vikander and Emily Browning as other actresses that have tested for the role, but Stewart is a name Universal execs keep coming back to. It would serve as Stewart's first major studio film post-Twilight.
Only an hour or so ago I had to update my Rumor Mill Round-Up post with news Viggo Mortensen had landed the role of the huntsman in Snow White and the Huntsman opposite Charlize Theron who's signed on to play the evil queen. At that point, it left only the role of Snow White to be cast for all the leads to be in place.
Well, Deadline has decided to stir up the rumor pot with news there are persistent rumors that Kristen Stewart (The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1) looms large as a potential lead.
I have to wonder, has Stewart reached a large enough profile to appeal to a mass audience rather than just Twilight fans for this to be a good move for Universal?
Snow White and the Huntsman is expected to begin production later this year for a December 21, 2012 release date. The film is described as a re-imagining of the classic fairy tale "Snow White and the Seven Dwarves" featuring an expanded role for the Huntsman who is ordered to take Snow White into the woods and kill her. Instead, he lets her go and he becomes something of a mentor, teaching her to fight and survive.

I like.
Stewart isn't meant for all types of roles. She more dark and kind of strange. I like her, but she can't play all types of characters. The bubbly roles aren't for her. This would be good. SOunds like a dark Snow White. I can see it. I approve. Not that my opinion matters.
Good step outside of Twilight although it's still kind of in the supernatural realm. I want her in a drama of some sort. As for now, good teen/young adult step
b/c the other people who were on the short list were going to bring a bigger audience? Um. No. She's a solid actor and pretty solid casting for the part of Snow White. I wouldn't hate this casting at all.
Oh Hell NO! Not that UNTALENTED drama queen. If the drama queen gets casted in this film I'll lose faith in it. And for those that'll reply saying "there's nothing wrong with her, she won a lot a awards for the twlight movies and I like her", Your all nothing but smoking too much weed. I hope this drama queen "wins" Worst Actress at the Razzie awards!
well try telling sean penn she's untalented, she had a career before twilight (and a repuation of being uber talented) and she'll have a career after twilight. simmer down. no need to spit out insults.

Sure. She did a lot of movies but she still needed Twilight to get known. What does that say about her acting?
I've seen most of her movies and yes she was very talented in her very young age and she is still young so she can have a lot of promise still but you dont base acting on awards. Look at johnny d, how many oscars does he have?? The idea of acting is for the actor/actress to make you believe they are the person they are playing in the movie. Looking at the track record for Ms. Stewart doesn't have a good promise, she plays very similar roles and I think her doing snow white could possibly show her true abilities as she tries something other than the depressed emo girl. Her best performance was the panic room and that says something. Think about it how many actors and actresses are dubbed talented stars and in 10yrs theyre on "Where are they now?" on VH1. Let he try different roles because if she stays on the same path im sorry but she will be just like hey boy toy bf and only be recognized for twilight.
Twilight is your only way to see Ms Stewart's acting abilities? That's a shame. Go out and see The Yellow Handkerchief, The Runaways or Meet the Rileys, all of her 2010 indie movie releases. Then come back here and tell us whether she's still untalented drama queen like you said she were.

she was also great in adventureland. i try my best to avoid bad movies, so i havent seen any twilights, but she has been very good in everything ive seen her in.
no one is saying she's won awards for the twilight movies. we are saying that you havent given any of her REAL films a chance. ignorance isnt always bliss.

The only reason people are so vile when it comes to Kristen is because of her doing the Twilight films. Kristen had a good film reputation prior to twilight and she will after. She is a good actress and she would be a great Snow White. The question is though will she take the role!
Kristen Stewart getting any work at all is NEVER a good idea. EVER.
