'King Kong' Remake Updates
The Sunday Star-Times out of New Zealand has reported some casting news regarding Peter Jackson's upcoming remake of the 1933 classic King Kong.
It has already been rumored that Naomi Watts is set to play the role of Ann Darrow, the damzel in distress that catches the big ape's eye, but it is now rumored that either George Clooney or Robert De Niro may be cast as the male lead of Carl Denham, the adventurer who captures the giant ape and brings him back to New York.
The Star-Times also reports that Jackson may make a cameo himself as the pilot who shoots down teh skyscraper climbing monkey in the film's climax.
They also mention that this remake will bring a record $20m, or a massive 20% of the profits. Looks like that Lord of the Rings popularity really will be paying off big.
