Jonah Nolan Penning 'Interstellar' for Spielberg
This will be one to keep an eye on
Jonah Nolan has done quite well for himself as a screenwriter, teaming with brother Christopher on such films as Memento, The Prestige and next, The Dark Knight. Now, he is putting pen to paper for another director, you may know him, Steven Spielberg. Yeah, Nolan is penning the sci-fi feature Interstellar for Paramount with Spielberg set to direct.
The drama revolves around explorers who travel through a worm hole and into another dimension. Variety says the plot was informed by a scientific theory by Kip S. Thorne, a Caltech physicist and expert on relativity. His theory that wormholes exist and can be used for time travel intrigued Spielberg, who attended a Caltech workshop on the subject with Thorne and other scientists.
Apparently Nolan is working on a script called The Chicago Fire for Warner Bros. This is the first I have heard about this film so I can't tell you anything about it at all. Nolan will begin Interstellar once that script is done.
Meanwhile Spielberg has a little more on his plate including Indiana Jones IV set to start in June and then his film about Abraham Lincoln and the Civil War, which Liam Neeson is expected to topline.
