Jolie Has 'A Mighty Heart'
Yet more casting news on the new mommy
Only days ago we received word that Angelina Jolie was lending her voice to the animated feature Kung Fu Panda. Today we learn that she is set to play Mariane Pearl in A Mighty Heart with Michael Winterbottom directing for Paramount Vantage.
The pic is an adaptation of Pearl's memoir about the kidnapping and murder of her journalist husband Daniel Pearl by Pakistani militants. The memoir details Pearl's search to locate her husband after he went missing in Pakistan. Also a journalist, Pearl was pregnant at the time. The drama ended as Pearl was murdered by his abductors, suspected to be Muslim terrorists tied to Al Qaeda.
Jolie's man-friend Brad Pitt and his Plan B production house will produce the film along with Andrew Eaton as shooting will begin within the next five weeks from a script by Laurence Coriat and Winterbottom.
