Johansson and Moss Off 'M:I 3'
Abrams talks the third Mission.
"Alias" and "Lost" creator as well as upcoming Mission: Impossible 3 director, J.J. Abrams talked to About.com about the upcoming Mission among other things and out of the interview we learn that Scarlett Johansson and Carrie-Anne Moss are both no longer with the picture, but who will replace them is up in the air as Abrams says, "Until everything is solidified, I can’t say."
The reason the two are no longer attached however does make sense as the script is being rewritten and as J.J. says, "…to have kept the actors when we are reinventing the story would have been an odd process, to say, 'Write a script with these people in mind for characters that haven’t been written.' It just felt like we had to start over with a clean slate."
Abrams also mentions that they have pretty much scanned the globe for filming locations as production is set to begin in July and will shoot "all over the place… It’s going to be a pretty big scale," Abrams said.

Mission: Impossible 3 is currently slated for release Summer 2006.
