J.J. Abrams on Shatner: 'When did that become my life?'
A fantastic interview on a dead topic
If you don't remember William Shatner's YouTube response to an interview comment J.J. Abrams made regarding an attempt at getting Shatner into the new Star Trek (5/8) film don't worry, I have it for you below along with new commentary from Abrams in an interview with Josh Horowitz with MTV.
In the interview J.J. talks about Shatner talking to him via YouTube and asks, "When did that become my life?"
Will there be a Shatner response to this? We can only hope.
In other news Abrams also recently addressed the current tendency to make superhero films so long such as The Dark Knight and the recent news on Watchmen's running time by saying, "[Star Trek] will be a two-hour movie. I'm sick of these two hours and 45 minute movies. Seriously, it's like I don't have enough time to stay two hours and 45 minutes. I'm exhausted just saying that twice. I can't stand it."

Thanks.
Are MTV videos region specific?
Uh wait a sec… leading up to the death scene for Kirk, they said once someone is in the Nexus they're in there forever.. or something to that effect… I don't remember the line exactly, but you could tell that they wrote it for the purpose of being able to unKill Kirk.
It doesn't take a good smart director to do it… it takes a nerd like me to do it. =)
Anyway, Abrams is on the other hand, absolutely correct. Writing Shatner into that movie is probably a terrible idea, particularly if you haven't considered how he escaped death in the first place.
