Jim Carrey has 'Sober Buddies'
New comedy for Carrey... Will this one pan out?
Jim Carrey is set to star in the comedy Sober Buddies for Universal Pictures and he will also produce with Stuber/Parent's Scott Stuber and Mary Parent and Michael Peyser.
Andrew Kurtzman is writing the script, about a hard-partying software exec assigned a court-appointed Sober Buddy to keep him under control during a critical business trip to Las Vegas. A perfect plan falls apart when the Sober Buddy (Carrey) falls off the wagon.
Carrey has suffered a rash of bad films and abandoned projects lately and is trying to find his next project. Among the list is the Tim Burton directed Ripley's Believe It or Not!, the gay prison escapee pic I Love You Phillip Morris and the Fox comedy Me Time about a reluctant nursemaid to his ailing wife and her family.
