Jennifer Hudson Continues to Get Film Roles
Will she ever be tested?
I appear to stand alone when I say Jennifer Hudson WAS NOT ACTING in Dreamgirls, SHE WAS SINGING. Then again, since she is only managing two bit roles in films such as Sex and the City: The Movie and now Tyler Perry's the Family That Preys, it appears people realize what I realize. However, this doesn't mean she can't act, the true test is going to come with Winged Creatures, in which she stars alongside Kate Beckinsale, Forest Whitaker, Dakota Fanning, Guy Pearce, Jackie Earle Haley and Jeanne Tripplehorn. That film is a drama and not some candy coated comedy.
As for this Tyler Perry feature, Hudson joins Sanaa Lathan, Kathy Bates, Alfre Woodard and Rockmond Dunbar and is expected to begin filming March 2 at Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta. Damn, does Tyler Perry add his name to everything?

The story focuses on two families from different sides of the tracks that become intimately involved in love and business. Man, I smell originality just bubbling off this one. I hope there isn't a misunderstanding involved because that would just be off the charts!

I'm biased, I like Jennifer she's from my hometown. I think she did an alright job in Dreamgirls ( I mean it was her first film role). I do think that she can improve, but her real test will come with "The Secret Life of Bees" she has a big part in that one also with Dakota Fanning.It's currently fiming. She has a small part in Winged Creatures too.
Okay I just read the story on Variety. How do you know that she has a small part? This does sound more interesting than his other efforts Kathy Bates and Alfre Woodard. This better be good. Hopefully Madea won't be making an appearance.
Oh, I don't know that she has a small part, but it doesn't sound like it is huge. I am just saying I don't think a Tyler Perry film is going to be the one to prove she is finally breaking out. I don't have any hatred toward her, she did just fine singing in Dreamgirls, even though I am not a huge fan of the film. I just want to see her act before I make any judgment. I pretty much felt her Oscar was not deserved, although an MTV Award Popcorn would have been appropriate.
Well, of course I don't think so either , but like I said the Secret Life of Bees ( I read the book & her part is pretty big) is the one where she is tested. Someone read the script for Winged Creatures and said she didn't have many lines. So that's how I heard she has a small part in that one.
