Javier Bardem Falls in 'Love' With Julia Roberts
Let's just hope it's better than 'Running with Scissors'
More movement has been reported around Ryan Murphy's ("nip/tuck" and Running with Scissors) Eat, Pray, Love starring Julia Roberts for Columbia Pictures. Variety brings word Javier Bardem is in negotiations to join the cast joining Roberts and co-star Richard Jenkins (The Visitor).
The film is an adaptation of the Elizabeth Gilbert memoir penned by Murphy in which Roberts plays the author, and Bardem will play Felipe, the man Gilbert meets and falls in love with on the final leg of a journey of self-discovery that began with the end of her marriage.
Richard Jenkins plays a Texan whom the heroine befriends at an Indian ashram.
Bardem will next be seen in Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu's Biutiful, which has a potential to thrust him back in the awards spotlight considering Inarritu's pedigree. Focus is set to release that film, but a release date has not yet been set.

javier is one of the best , julia is so overated one of the worst it would have been nice to see marion cotilliard are some one that can act other than portraing her self…
I hope that the film will stay true to the themes of the book. Julia is meh! The addition of Bardem and Jenkins. It could be halfway decent.
Ryan Murphy butched "Running with Scissors". I LOVED the book. The movie was a driveling coming-of-age mess.
I lost any faith I had in Julia after suffering through Duplicity. Bardem is amazing, as is Jenkins, and they will be the saving factor in this film
Julia is not nearly as bad an actress as people make her out to be. I think she will be able to do a good job. I'm sure Javier will be able to help bring her character alive.
