Just yesterday I reported on a story regarding Hugh Jackman's production company, Seed Productions, getting ready to produce Ghostopolis in conjunction with Disney, a family friendly feature for Jackman to star in. Today it appears that's not the only thing Jackman and Co. has their eye on.

First off, Fox and Seed are working on a sequel to the box-office topping X-Men Origins: Wolverine. As for storylines, they are squarely focusing on the samurai storyline originated in the comic series, and whose Japanese locale was teased as one of the film's final credit Easter eggs. A writer has yet to be hired.

Next is Personal Security, a film Jackman will star in as a tough Gotham police detective forced into bodyguard duty for a spoiled teen heiress who is receiving kidnapping threats. Matt Lieberman (Dr. Dolittle: Tail to the Chief) wrote the script.

A film Variety seems to believe may be the next up for Jackman is said to be Drive for Universal, a film in which Jackman will play a solitary man who drives race cars by day and getaway cars by night in Los Angeles. Hossein Amini wrote the recent draft, which Jackman supposedly said captured the tone of a Steve McQueen film.

Finally there is Carousel, a script by David Magee, which is said to keep the timeless spirit of the 1956 Rodgers & Hammerstein classic, in which Jackman would play Billy Bigelow, a role originated by Gordon MacRae. Jackman apparently wants his Oscar-opening flame Anne Hathaway to play the role of Julie Jordan, but negotiations are said to have not begun.

With an expectation to return to the Broadway stage in 2010 in the title role for "Houdini" it sounds like Jackman has pretty much got things figured out.

  1. In the James Sallis novel, the driver in Drive is a Hollywood stunt car driver. Much cooler back-story for neo-noir than a race car driver. I hope they haven't screwed it up.

I think hugh jackman needs some more practice acting!! That wolverine was just a better version of x3 with the fancy thrwing the gun and cating them with clips or just dodging bullets with knives and wolverine being that smart azz as usual acting hard then crying in the end over some chick or something. I hope the x-men series improves instead of decline matter fact the marvel series itself cause these last movies by marvel like blade: trinity, spider-man 3, ghost rider, etc was some garbage. Marvel have one of the best comic books but there movies starts out pretty good then just decline. Maybe some of the need better actors or something.
