Is Abbie Cornish the New Bond Girl?

With all the Cloverfield and Watchmen talk as of late everyone seems to have forgotten about James Bond 22, the film franchise that led the way when it came to rumors back before Casino Royale was released. Since we already know who Bond is that only leaves us with who will be his lady in 2008?

There have already been rumors saying that Australian actress Abbie Cornish was being eyed for the role and FX's "Damages" star Rose Byrne may have just added fuel to the fire when she was quoted telling MTV, “I think Abbie Cornish’s got it.”

Cornish's name was attached to the rumor back in June along with Sienna Miller, and MI6.co.uk even reported the rumor as far back as March '07 saying that Cornish flew out to Singapore to meet with the producers of the movie, including Barbara Broccoli, the daughter of legendary Bond producer Cubby Broccoli, as well as executives from MGM and some of the principal cast members including, of course, Daniel Craig. This was three months prior to the official announcement that Marc Forster would be directing.
