'Iron Man' Update: Cassavetes On or Off?
It was never a done deal.
Back in November '04 a press release was sent out by New Line Cinema that Notebook director, Nick Cassavetes, was going to be taking over the directorial reigns on New Line's comic book adaptation of Iron Man, but Variety is now reporting that "it turns out there was never a done deal."
Cassavetes is currently in post-production on another New Line flick, Alpha Dog, but the likelihood of him taking over the helming duties on Iron Man are a bit wishy washy as Variety tells us that talks of directing have not happened for several months, but he is working on a script rewrite.
Apparently Cassavetes is still in the running to direct but it is not a sure thing, and considering there is no official director or any casting New Line has moved the film back a year to 2007.
