The Mandarin is Schemin' In New 'Iron Man 3' Poster

Just plottin' my next attack

I instantly thought of Sacha Baron Cohen as The Dictator when I first saw this poster of Ben Kingsley as the Mandarin in Iron Man 3. Either that or as a rapper in Master P's No Limit army. Either way, man he is looking gangster.

According to the Marvel Wikia, here's a little background on this guy:

The Mandarin's parents died shortly after he was born. The Mandarin spent all of his vast inheritance training at science and martial arts. Doing so caused him to go broke at roughly the same time he reached adulthood. The Chinese government evicted him because he was too broke to pay his taxes. The bitter, broke, homeless, but extremely well trained Mandarin began to wander the earth. He found an alien space-ship during his wandering. He studied the ship to gain knowledge of advanced science, and stole rings he found within it. The Mandarin uses a combination of superhuman martial arts abilities, alien science, and the ten energy-blasting rings he found to wage a never-ending war on civilization.

So this is the guy that will be all up in Tony Stark/Iron Man's business in the new film, come May 3. Check out the full poster below.

Iron Man 3 Poster (The Mandarin)

Marvel Studios' Iron Man 3 pits brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy's hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. This journey, at every turn, will test his mettle. With his back against the wall, Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him. As he fights his way back, Stark discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man?

I'm not big on the first 2 Iron Man films, but this new entry seems promising. This fantastic image of Kingsley Big Pimpin' straight up rules. Hopefully the series will finally have an interesting, threatening and charismatic villain.

The Mandarin looks like he's posing for his album cover.

I have thoroughly enjoyed each of the Iron Man films. They are good, old-fashioned, escapist fun at the cinema. While the action scenes have always impressed, for me, it's the witty banter between Stark and his colleagues that keeps me coming back for me. Robert Downey Jr is Iron Man, and for that reason I hope they keep going back to the well.

However, one thing has been missing: a truly great villain. Jeff Bridges hamming it up as a ruthless industrialist? Not scaring me in those Armani suits. Justin Hammer and Ivan Vanko? Am I supposed to be trembling? Now don't get me wrong, I did enjoy the performances by each of the actors portraying these villains, its just that none of them felt truly menacing. But I guess, when your having this much fun at the movies, who cares if the villain represents a real threat or not? Still, I'd like to see a memorable enemy for Tony to face. The Mandarin just might do the trick.

I think Ben Kingsley should just reprise his character from Sexy Beast. THEN we'd have a menacing villain lol.

This totally looks like a rap album cover! Hahaha. I agree with you guys.
