Director Bryan Singer tweeted out news yesterday that Omar Sy, the outstanding co-star in The Intouchables has joined the cast of X-Men: Days of Future Past.
Sy won the Cesar Award for Best Actor in 2012 for his role in The Intouchables and has also starred in Jean-Pierre Jeunet's Micmacs and will be seen in Michel Gondry's Mood Indigo later this year.
As for his role in Days of Future Past, the character has not yet been revealed, though early fan speculation is that he'll play a character named Bishop, a member of Xavier's Security Enforcers (initially called the Xavier School Enforcers), a mutant police force from a dystopian future of the Marvel Universe.
X-Men: Days of Future Past hits theaters on July 18, 2014.
Thrilled to welcome the brilliant #OmarSy from the amazing film #TheIntouchables to the cast of #Xmen #DaysofFuturePast!

Good for him. I knew when I saw him in The Intouchables he was going places.
Very interesting to see the recent raise in numbers for Foreign film actors getting roles in Hollywood productions after success. For example, Jean Dujardin, after winning his Oscar, was cast in Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street and The Monuments Men.
And Halle Berry joins as well, according to Deadline today.
