'Inception' FYC Back Patting
Including best, best, best and best
I'm all for pumping up a film I like, but the voice over narration of this thing just irks me for some reason. Is there anyone out there not aware of Inception's appeal? I will say this, all the love for Christopher Nolan in this piece almost feels like a solid backhand from WB to the Academy as if to say, "See! Michael Caine calls Nolan one of the best directors in the world and you couldn't even nominate him for Best Director."
Nonetheless, here is an extended Warner Bros. "For Your Consideration" piece for the film.

LMAO this is a huge FU to the academy for snubbing Nolan, its a Nolan appreciation fest
I think if Inception came out in December it would be the frontrunner for Best Picture. It was my favorite film of the year (I still think The Social Network is the best) and Nolan got screwed out a Best Director nom. He probably did the best job out of all directors this year.
Inception definitely seems more difficult to make than any of the films with a Director nom, I agree.
No. If Avatar couldn't do it, then neither could Inception.
But Avatar got a directing nomination, which seems to be the biggest issue. I think people just want some recognition for Nolan.
I'm all for it. I agree with it, and the Academy deserves all the slaps in the face it can get for their continued insults towards Nolan.
I mean at least guys like Kubrick and early Scorsese got the nominations!
Im still in shock at Nolan's exclusion from the list. I still struggle to understand how it could get so many noms INCLUDING best picture but the director doesnt get the nod for putting all the other aspects together.
If Inception somehow won best picture that would redeem the academy…but it won't so it won't.
As a designer who can direct others much better than himself, I'm always impressed when a director turns his own script into a masterpiece, I guess the academy doesn't agree.
"Is there anyone out there not aware of Inception's appeal?"
New York critics, apparently.
The voice narration made me cringe
and the moral of the story is, the Academy SUCKS.
The Acaedemy has a surprise up it's sleeves… WHAT IF Inception gets Best Picture…??? ;)
