In Case You Missed It: Mickey Rourke's Speech at the Spirit Awards
Hard not to enjoy this much honesty
I am a little late on this one, but I pretty much got sucked into Oscar mania and everything else got swept under the rug for about 24 hours. However, there are a couple of things left to catch up on starting with Mickey Rourke's much-talked-about speech accepting for Best Actor at Saturday's Independent Spirit Awards where The Wrestler performed much better than it did at Sunday night's Oscars.
If you don't believe the Academy was trembling at the idea of Rourke besting Sean Penn at the Oscars just take a look at the speech below as Rourke touches on everything a seven-second live television delay was made for. It's profanity laced and well worth the watch. If he had won the Oscar it would have been unforgettable, but at least we have this.

That was awesome! Wished he won the oscar, but it doesn't really matter, it was an awesome performance in the movie.
