Impressive Fan Made Movie Trailer: 'The Hunt for Gollum'
This actually looks really good...
Thanks to Garth at Dark Horizons I am made aware of the trailer for the fan made film The Hunt for Gollum, which will go live online in full on May 3rd. The official site for the film tells us the story, which is entirely independent of anything relating to Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings or the upcoming Hobbit films, follows the Heir of Isildur; the "greatest huntsman and traveler in Middle Earth" as he sets out to find the creature Gollum. The creature must be found to discover the truth about the Ring, and to protect the future Ringbearer.
The 40-minute film will be made available for free to download online and was made on a small £3000 ($4,355) budget, and as Garth says, "You'd never know it judging from the trailer below which makes it look like it cost a hell of a lot more."
Give it a watch below.

Love it!
Wow, this looks really good! Even if it was a $10 million movie I don't think the trailer would look any better. Here's to hoping the film is just as good!
I'm sure there are purists right now who are protesting, but do you know what? I'll bet Tolkien would be thrilled with this. I once asked my mom (who's been a huge LOTR fan for the past 35 years) what Tolkien would think of fanfiction, and she said, "Actually, Tolkien would love the idea. He wanted to create a mythology with Middle Earth, and he would have loved the idea of people adding on to his mythology." The same idea holds true here. Tolkien would love that fans are exploring Middle Earth, especially past LOTR and "The Hobbit." :D
looks great! Finally someone who knows the true story ans knows what really happened.
Damn!! I need to watch it!
