I'd Make a Terrible Demigod, "What? Lava Monster? I'm Out!"
You won't catch me on a flying horse battling a lava monster

I caught a trailer for Wrath of the Titans in front of my screening of Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance recently and as I was watching two things struck me; 1) There are a TON of big ol' beasties in this thing from slobbering monsters, Cyclops, lava rock creatures, two-headed dragon-like whatchamacallits and then that big ass lava monster and 2) I wouldn't be messing with any of them.
You can take that comment as seriously as you wish, but isn't there a point in these things where it's just sort of like, "Enough already, stop throwing things at me and the protagonist and just tell me a story." At what point are there too many obstacles in the way of a story? This isn't a videogame, the audience shouldn't feel as if they need to watch the hero overcome some massive goal at each turn just to get to the next scene. After all, the ending of most videogames is such a letdown why should we expect these movies to be any different?
And then there's this…

Is anyone believing Rosamund Pike as warrior Queen Andromeda in this picture? In full motion as the trailer plays, this moment elicits a laugh out of me more than anything else.
I guess what I'm getting to is this, watch the new trailer for Wrath of the Titans below and tell me what you think? Looking good or like a big, loud 3-D mess? Will you be heading to the theater on March 30 or will you be staying home?

I would comment on the trailer but doing so without having seen the film would probably irk someone somewhere so I'll politely decline from doing so.
I missed the first one and the only reason I find to see this one is Rosamunde Pike, a very underrated actress IMHO. I don´t share your point about her as a warrior… Why? Because she´s blonde? She looks strong, fit and fierce. I loved Miranda Otto as Eowyn fighting in LOTR, why not Rosamunde?
I´m not comparing both pictures though… this looks cheap as hell.
I love Pike in her more legitimate work, but any time she does a film like this it traditionally turns out pretty bad… Doom and Die Another Day being a couple examples.
Yeah, I agree with you on this. When she tries commercial films she doesn´t choose well (or doesn´t have better opportunities). I hope this will change with the movie she just filmed with Tom Cruise. Crossing fingers.
Why do filmmakers insist on having women fight in films like this? Can't a woman be portrayed as strong without her having to bear arms?
pretty irrelevant, but the trailer made me think of this:

Am I the only one who actually liked the first film? The trailer wasn't great but I'm looking forward to it.
No, you're not. I actually liked it too and I plan to see this as well. "Clash" scratched the nostalgia itch I had from seeing the original when I was a youngster. (I did see the first one 2D since the 3D there was purely a money grab. If this was actually filmed 3D, I might think about it this time.)
Lava monster? Please. Lure him into the sea and watch him solidify. NEXT! (And can LOTR's Balrog sue for infringement?)
I enjoyed the first one for what it was. I will probably go see this one too, tho not in 3D. And I'm with ya Brad, I would say to Hell with that if any of those things were coming my way!
It can't be worse than the first one. At least there's that.
I hated clash of the titans – loved the trailer and the "release the craken " bit but other than that it was a poor movie with not terrible CGI in some cases ( like the one with the meeting of the council with zeus)
this trailer looks like it has some epic monsters but absolutely no story whatsoever – so not sure if i am going subject myself to sit through it again – and the 3D on COT was terrible
This looks like Transformers in ancient Greece…lots of flashy effects and absolutely no story. I'll pass.
Well, since the first one didn't really have any Titans clashing. I'm hoping that we get to see some good wrath from the Titans in this one. I'll probably make it out to see this one the second weekend or so… nothing in that trailer makes me want to run out & see this with the throngs of teenage boys.
Rosamund Pike has always looked older than her years, but now that she's in her 30s, she actually looks a sort.
That Lava monsters thing is Kronos, the father of Hades and Zeus…
