Iceman and Two Others are in 'Ruins'
Ashmore, Malone and Ramsey join thriller at DreamWorks
Shawn Ashmore is known for not much more than his role as Bobby Drake, a.k.a. Iceman, in the X-Men series of films, but now he, along with Laura Ramsey and Jena Malone, is joining the DreamWorks and Spyglass Entertainment thriller The Ruins. The three actors join Jonathan Tucker in the film adaptation of Scott B. Smith's novel in which he also adapted the screenplay.
The thriller is about a group of friends whose leisurely Mexican holiday takes a turn for the worse when they accompany a fellow tourist on a remote archaeological dig in the jungle, where something evil lives among the ruins.
Filming is said to begin in late May in Queensland, Australia. The Hollywood Reporter article does not mention any director, but IMDb lists Carter Smith as the helmer.
