Hoffman Streeps Down for 'Doubt'
Play adaptation lands at Miramax
Meryl Streep and Philip Seymour Hoffman are joining forces and are set to star in the screen adaptation of the John Patrick Shanley's Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winning play Doubt.
Shanley penned the adaptation and will also direct. The story takes place in a Bronx Catholic School in 1964, where the principal (Streep), a nun who's a strict disciplinarian, makes pedophile charges against a popular priest (Hoffman). Still to be cast is a young nun caught between them.
Production is set to begin in New York on December 1. Miramax will distribute.
