A Hobbit Talks 'The Hobbit'
What can Frodo tell us?
MTV has posted a very interesting interview with Elijah Wood, who I am sure all of you know played Frodo in the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Now it has been quite some time since I read "The Hobbit", but I am pretty sure Frodo doesn't play a part in the story, but that doesn't mean there isn't an opportunity for him in either The Hobbit or the proposed sequel.
Until now we knew only that The Hobbit would be based on J.R.R. Tolkein's famous tale, but what the sequel would be exactly was a mystery. Wood clarifies for us saying, "I haven't spoken to [Peter Jackson] directly about it [but] I've e-mailed him, and as far as I know, the two films that they're doing, one will be 'The Hobbit' and another will take place between the 60 years that happened between 'The Hobbit' and 'The Lord of the Rings'… If I'm asked to go back and revisit that character and it makes sense, I would love to. I would absolutely love to."
Considering we meet Frodo in Fellowship of the Ring and he admits he hasn't ever done anything, craving adventure with Bilbo and so forth, which leads me to believe if he were to be in the film it would only be a small cameo since no one wants to sit around and watch a Hobbit do nothing.
It is however interesting to know what the sequel will be all about, I just wonder who is going to write it. Writting a film trying to continue the work of Tolkein will be a daunting task for whoever takes it on.
