Heyman Takes THE ODYSSEY
Epic poem set for big screen adaptation...
Now that we have had a revised edition of what was going on in the world of the greeks in this year's Warner Bros. release Troy, Harry Potter producer, Andrew Heyman, is ready to take a closer look at the magical side of things by bringing to life Homer's The Odyssey.
British screenwriter Frank Cottrell Boyce is set to adapt the 12,110 line epic poem into a script as the film will tell the story of Odysseus, king of Ithaca, as he sets home on a 10-year journey following the Trojan War. His journey is subsequently frought with danger and magical beings including his interaction with the gods, supernatural threats, shipwrecks, battles and monsters.
Of course in Hollywood, things are not always what they originally were and Heyman's version is expected to have a different perspective.
