As far as complaining about his statements go, I can tell you are an apologist, that's fine… Russell is complaining as if we all think he is a golden idol. Guess what, he is an actor that's about it, his opinion means as much as the guy that bags my groceries and who knows, maybe even that guy play Plissken better than Russell did.

^^^ I am not comparing the quality of the films, Brad. I'm compaing the characters of those films. Each of them was defined by the actor that played the part. You cannot think about the Terminator without thinking about Arnie. The same goes for Indy Jones and Harrison Ford. When people hear about Snake Plissken they think about Kurt Russell. Those characters have become iconic and each have their share of fans. Sure, Escape from New York was a B-movie at best, yet it meant something to many people just like the others that were mentioned here.

Besides, How would you feel if they remade Raiders of the lost ark with a new actor playing Indy Jones? Or The Terminator with somebody else playing Arnold's character? I think it was Silvester Stallone who proved to all that despite his age.. he's still Rocky Balboa.

In my opinion, Snake is Kurt and Butler is Leonides. Maybe Kurt should play Leonides just to piss Butler's fans (mostly in the gay community)… thassa joke! ;)
