Apparently the heat Miramax has been taking for keeping their Jet Li martial arts extravaganza on the shelf for two years has reached the higher ups as word was announced today that Hero will be hitting store shelves on November 30th.

The artsy film has managed to take advantage of lackluster releases the past two weeks and has poised itself atop the box office charts two weeks in a row bringing in $36+ million since its August 27th release.

The movie tells the story of the soon-to-be First Emperor of China who is on the brink of conquering a war-torn land during the violent dawn of the Qin dynasty over two thousand years ago. Three opponents are determined to assassinate King, and one loyal subject stands in their way.

The short window and shotgun announcement aim to circumvent the Chinese DVD version of the movie, which has been widely available for months via the Internet and other outlets. The Miramax version will offer both subtitled and dubbed English translations, as well as a making-of featurette and interview with presenter Quentin Tarantino.
