Hayward and Martino Hear a Who
Suess flick finds its helmers
Variety is reporting that 20th Century Fox has finally found a couple of fellas to direct its CGI-animated adaptation of the Dr. Seuss classic Horton Hears a Who.
Jimmy Hayward and Steve Martino will be directing from a script by Ken Daurio and Cinco Paul with storyboarding just getting underway under the supervision of Fox Animation president Chris Meledandri and Blue Sky's Chris Wedge, both of whom are producing.
Martino was an art director on Fox and Blue Sky's Robots, which released earlier this year and Hayward has a long history with Pixar as he was an animator on Toy Story, Finding Nemo, Monsters, Inc. and A Bug's Life.
On top of Horton Hears a Who Fox has also optioned for a sequel based on "Horton Hatches an Egg" whose production will obviously be considered based on the success of the first film.
