Hayek to Play Housewife in 'La Banda'
New starring role for the latina sex pot
Salma Hayek is everywhere lately with her television producing job on Golden Globe winner "Ugly Betty," the Oscar nominations, showing off her breasts and now word on a new starring role as a housewife in La Banda.
The project is reportedly aiming at her Latin American fanbase with a potential for US crossover. In the picture Hayek will portray a wealthy housewife who falls on hard times when her husband leaves. She takes a job as a singer for a wedding band while keeping her involvement secret from her high-society friends and family, but it becomes a tricky balancing act as the band gains in popularity.
Hayek will produce the film which will start shooting in Mexico this summer with Issa Lopexz directing. A soundtrack album, with Hayek performing, also is planned.
