We can only hope they stop at three

One of the most annoying things about throwing yourself knee deep into movies a little later in life is all the catching up involved. It's endlessly frustrating to know I have seen all but one of Paul Weitz's films and still haven't seen everything from Spielberg or even Scorsese. What's even more frustrating is I am expecting to receive About a Boy from Netflix in the next couple of days, which will complete my viewing of the Paul Weitz-directed filmography. Of course, that's my fault for not renting The Sugarland Express or Bringing Out the Dead, but after seeing the lame Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant and American Dreamz before that, I needed to see why so many people kept telling me to see About a Boy just so I can mark it off my list and be done with Weitz. That is until he unleashes the needless Little Fockers on us on July 30, 2010.

Little Fockers is the follow-up to 2004's Meet the Fockers, which was preceded by Meet the Parents in 2000 and since I never ended up seeing Meet the Fockers I may do my best to skip this latest edition, but for those of you that do head to the theaters you can now expect a little Harvey Keitel to join the focking party.

The Hollywood Reporter tells us Keitel will join Robert De Niro, Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, Teri Polo, Blythe Danner, Jessica Alba and Laura Dern in the Weitz directed comedy and will play a contractor employed by Stiller's character. There are no official plot details as of yet, but the film is expected to revolve around the children of Stiller and Polo.

So as I await the arrival of About a Boy and prep to view a film many have told me is Weitz's best, you can ponder the thought of one more Focker movie and begin asking yourself if they will dare to make My Focking Grandchildren in 2013.

Hey, that franchise is pretty funny. What's with the negativity lol

Meet the Fockers is kinda funny.

Barbra Streisand and Dustin Hoffmann seemmed to be having a lot of fun doing their scenes, at least.

Too bad Harvey Keitel isn't the grandpa, he'd be so much more entertaining than Dustin Hoffman. Especially if he was as much of a grumpy asshole like his character in Bad Lieutenant. That would be gold.

I like this franchise. "Meet the Parents" was great, and "Meet the Fockers" was good. What saved "Meet the Fockers" was the introduction of Hoffman and Streisand as Mr. and Mrs. Focker. They were fantastic.
