Harrison Ford is Up for Indy Stunts
He's 65 and still kickin'
The Associated Press did a little write up on the production of Indiana Jones IV recently as the production made its way to Hawaii's Big Island. The focal point of the piece was on Harrison Ford and the question of whether or not he was up for the physical aspect of the role and word is that "Ford is as fit as ever."
Word is that Ford will be doing a lot of his own stunts as Kathleen Kennedy, the film's co-executive producer, along with George Lucas, said, "He's doing them, he just has a few more ice packs and a few more massages."
The film's biggest action sequences are being filmed in Hawaii. Producer Frank Marshall compared one scene to the thrilling, white-knuckled truck chase in the desert in "Raiders."
"It's that level," he said.
Hawaii will be featured in about 20 percent of the film. About half will be from sets in Los Angeles. The Aloha State was also the backdrop for portions of Raiders of the Lost Ark.
"The cleverness, the humor and the tone of Indiana Jones is very much alive and well in this movie," Kennedy said.
Indiana Jones IV hits theaters May 22, 2008 and is expected to be part of the Paramount Pictures panel at Comic Con this year.
